Lolita R. O’Connor, of Boerne, died on October 10, 2019. She was 97 years old. She was born January 18, 1922 in Santurce, Puerto Rico to Rafael Robert Cruz and Delores Santini Rodriguez.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Timothy Donald O’Connor; her two brothers, Dr. Jose Luis “Bibi” Robert Santini and Angel Rafael Robert Santini, both of San Juan, Puerto Rico; and by her sister, Dr. Maria Isabel “Marisa” Robért de Ramirez de Arellano, also of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Lolita is survived by her daughter, Lolita Catherine Reppert of San Antonio; son, Don O’Connor, and mother of her grandchildren, Annie O’Connor of Boerne; son William Patrick “Pito” O’Connor and wife, Lisa of Pearsall; her eldest granddaughter Lolita Ann O’Connor and husband, Kristopher Wise of Fair Oaks Ranch; her granddaughter, Catherine O’Connor Shaver and husband, Dennis Shaver of Boerne; granddaughter, Denise Robért O’Connor Mazour and husband, Jed Mazour of Boerne; grandson, Thomas Donald Baade O’Connor of San Marcos; and granddaughter, Paige Luna O’Connor of Pearsall. She is also survived by all her great grandchildren: Lileana Marion O’Connor Shaver, Hunter Jedidiah Mazour, Elizabeth Denise Mazour, Claire Catherine Shaver, Colton Dean Shaver, Anyka Izabella Shaver, Zayli Lolita Maddox, Emmalyne DeAnn Shaver, Zarek Thomas Maddox, Annaliese Ruth Shaver, Roman Donald O’Connor Wise, Beckom Timothy Dean Shaver, Jackson Dean Shaver, Joshua Dean Shaver and wife, Kayla; great-great- granddaughter, Scarlett Renee Shaver; by her nephews: Rafael Fernando Robért, Jose Luís Robért and Max Ramirez de Arellano; and by her nieces: Conchita Font-Robert, Irmita Alonso-Robert, Maxine Ramirez de Arellano and Marisa Ramirez de Arellano.

After graduating from Longwood University in Virginia, Lolita went on to study medicine at the University of Creighton School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, where she met her husband, Timothy Donald O’Connor, II. The couple were wed on June 22, 1944. It wartime, Don, now a medical doctor and Captain in the US Army, was stationed at Remy Air Force Base, back home in Puerto Rico.

About two years later, Don and Lolita left their children in Puerto Rico with their grandparents Rafael and Dolores, to travel to Texas to live in Pearsall. The couple started their own clinic, the O’Connor Clinic, where Lolita worked alongside him as the clinic’s lab technician, as she was just one year shy of her own M.D.

Lolita was a passionate artist, completing dozens, if not hundreds of oil and watercolor paintings during her lifetime. She enjoyed traveling with her husband as they took trips all over the world, hitting almost every country in Europe, as well as Canada, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, China, Vietnam, Japan, Israel, the Caribbean, and much of South America.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Boerne with graveside services to follow at Mission Park North Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Memorial services and reception will be held at Mi Casa Tamales Restaurant.

Rosary will be held on Friday, October 18 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Father Roberto V. Rosales officiating.

Pallbearers will be Thomas O’Connor, Dennis Shaver, Hunter Mazour, Jed Mazour, Kristopher Wise and Jackson Shaver.

Services were under the direction of Bell and Bell Funeral Home, San Antonio.
