Maria A. Leal, 65 of Pearsall, died on January 24, 2020, in San Antonio. She was born on December 7, 1954, in Pearsall to Felix L. Vasquez Sr. and Eusebia Trevino Vasquez.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Santiago Leal, siblings Marina Verzoza, Patricia Murguia, Joe Ray Vasquez, Jaime Vasquez, Reynaldo Vasquez, Mario Vasquez, Rogelio Vasquez and Felix Vasquez Jr. Leal is survived by her children Elizabeth M. Mendez and husband Guillermo R. Mendez, Marizelda Mainez and husband Javier Gonzales, Janice Vasquez, Rachel Leal, Priscilla Leal and husband Ernesto Avelar, Blanca M. Leal and husband Rolando Garcia, Santiago Leal Jr., siblings Sylvia Cuevas, Nora Trevino, Patsy Vasquez, Irma Vasquez and Reymundo Vasquez. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 27 at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels from 2 to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass was celebrated on Tuesday, January 28 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pearsall at 10 a.m. Interment followed at the Frio County Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels, Pearsall.
