Jason Anthony Maldonado, 35 of Pearsall, died on January 31, 2020. He was born on December 3, 1984 in Pearsall to Yvonne Maldonado Medina. He is preceded in death by his grandfather the late Rodolfo Maldonado, grandmother the late Martha E. Morales, and brother, Michael Maldonado.

He is survived by his wife Valerie Benavides, children Jayceanne Alaine Maldonado, Janieya Ari Maldonado, stepson, Rene Adame III, mother Yvonne Medina and husband Guillermo, siblings Zoe Medina and husband Brandon Robinson, Benjamin Guillermo Medina, Sotero Morales Jr. and wife Marcy, Samantha Morales and husband Jesse, Chelsea Morales, and Marcos Morales. He is also survived by his grandmothers Irma Maldonado and Grace Medina as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Benjamin Medina, Sotero Morales Jr., Sammy Morales Jr., Abel Ramirez Jr., Mathew Martinez, Eddie Leal Jr., David Castaneda and Mario Camacho Jr. Honorary pallbearer was Rene Adame III.

Visitation was held on Friday, February 7 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church from 5 to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass was held on Saturday, February 8 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Interment followed at the Frio County Cemetery.
