Reba Jean Brown

Reba Jean Brown, 90, died on May 29, 2020 in Dilley. She was born on February 6, 1930 in New Mexico to parents Ira and Marie (Edwards) Stillwell. She was raised by Clarence and Marie Hermes, along with her five brothers.

Brown was an LVN who began her career at the Dilley Hospital until it closed, then at several other hospitals and ultimately worked for many years with the Texas Department of Corrections at the Dolph Briscoe Unit in Dilley.

She was preceded In death by her husband Donald Ploch Brown, son Donald Clarence (Jim) Brown and all her siblings.

She is survived by her children Brenda (Bruce) Grassle, Sammy Ray (Jamie) Brown, sisters-in-law Edna Hermes and Lorene Pritchett, eight grandchlldren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, graveside services will be private with interment in the Dilley Cemetery.
