Candelaria “Candy” Elizondo Trevino, 73, died at home on July 22, 2020, in San Antonio. She was born on April 24, 1947, to parents Marianna and Pedro Elizondo in Pearsall and raised in Charlotte.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Pedro Elizondo, Matias Elizondo, Julian Elizondo, Domingo Elizondo and David Elizondo and by her sisters Lucia Elizondo, Marta Elizondo, Elisa “Licha” Hernandez and Basilia “Chila” Elizondo.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Manuel G. Trevino of San Antonio and daughters Naomi R. Harman of Cleburne and Veronica T. Zamora, also of San Antonio. She is survived by her sister Elidia “Lydia” Pedroza of Apalachin, New York, her twin sister Marianna “Mary Ann” Haywood of Lockhart and her brothers Gabriel “Gabby” Elizondo of Pleasanton, and Mike Elizondo of San Antonio. She is grandmother to Joseph M. Zamora of San Antonio, Matthew C. Harman and Samara “Sam” Harman of Cleburne. She is also survived by her two “sons” thru marriage, Brad D. Harman of Cleburne and Peter A. Zamora of San Antonio, along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Candy was a childcare provider and later a teacher’s aide in Northside Independent School District’s Galm and Driggers Elementary Schools. She was an avid cook and entertainer, an avid reader and parishioner at the Chapel of the Assumption at St. Mary’s University.
