Genevieve H’Lavacik Niederberger
Niederberger, 72
Genevieve H’Lavacik Niederberger of Cotulla, died on July 16, 2020. “Genie” was born on September 17, 1948 to Dr. John H’Lavacik and Genevieve H’Lavacik.
Genie was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 28 years, Wilhem (Bill) Niederberger.
She is survived by several cousins in the Joliet, Illinois, area and many friends from high school and Cotulla.
Genie attended schools in San Antonio and graduated from Incarnate Word High School. In 1991, she married Bill Niederberger from Wisconsin. He ran a restaurant at the Karakahl Inn in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin for many years and Genie assisted him in the business. They returned to Cotulla in the late 90s to be with her parents.
Genie was an avid shopper, always dressed well and cared for many cats.
A funeral Mass was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cotulla on July 30. She was laid to rest beside her husband, Bill, at the Cotulla Eastside Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla.
