Maria De Jesus Peña, 68 of Pearsall, died on October 2, 2020 in San Antonio. She was born on February 8, 1952 in Pearsall to Jose Pena and Angelita Vasquez Pena.

She is preceded in death by her parents, father of children Raul Ruiz Sr., siblings Ernestina Pena Elizondo and Ramon V. Pena, cousins Edwardo Pena, Josefa P. Rodriguez, Pedro Pena and Carmen Pena and nephew Joe Michael Pena.

She is survived by her children Angelita D. Medelez (Braulio) of Sabinal, Raul Ruiz Jr. or Pearsall, Sarah L. Ruiz of Uvalde, Timoteo Elizondo Jr.(Annabelle), Dolores Ortiz, Graciela Guedea (Tomas), Jose Elizondo, John Paul Elizondo (Lori) and Florinda Pena, grandchildren Ernestina Elizondo (Daniel), Timothy James Elizondo (Abby), Laihlan A. Medelez, Elise D. Elizondo, Leilani Elissa Ruiz, Leihda Lisandra Garcia, LeAundra Arlayna Hinson. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Lysette Ventura and Jeremiah Cole Elizondo.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9 at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels from 2 to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 10 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Pearsall Catholic Cemetery Westside.
