The city of Pearsall is working with South Texas Rural Health Services to host a ‘drive-thru’ flu vaccination offer to the general public from Monday to Friday, October 19-23.
Vaccines will be available each day at the STRH clinic at 158 Medical Drive, near Frio Regional Hospital, on the west side of IH-35 in Pearsall.
The event is being held in conjunction with Pearsall’s recent proclamation of October 2020 as Influenza Awareness Month in the city.
“The city of Pearsall strives to protect all its residents, both young and old, from preventable diseases,” municipal authorities noted in a prepared statement this week. “It is necessary to increase public knowledge, acceptance and use of vaccines as an effective means of infectious disease prevention.”
Vaccinations are available for those in Pearsall and unincorporated areas of Frio County. There is no out-of-pocket charge or insurance required to receive a vaccine but photo identification will be needed. Those with insurance will need to provide their cards.
COVID-19 protocols will be enforced so facial coverings are required and social distancing restrictions will also be in effect.
No appointments are needed but those wishing to receive a vaccination should call (830) 334-4102 to register.
