Jorge Herrada finished fourth overall and Kiana Kebbi was 14th in action at Crystal City on Saturday, October 10.
Herrada paced the team with a time of 18:27. Tristan Ellis was 16th for the Mavs as he clocked in at 19:48 while Matthew Frazier was 19th at 20:18. CJ Garza came in 31st for Pearsall at 23:11.
“Our team continues to improve and we have not yet peaked,” PHS Head Cross Country Coach John Hernandez said. “Jorge Herrada and Kiana Kebbi led both our teams this weekend in Crystal City. These two have been working so hard and have become true leaders.
“With district coming up in less than two weeks we’re excited to see everyone run. Our runners continue to improve with the short time we have been training and Coach (Arlene) Silva and myself are excited to see how we do in district.”
Kebbi clocked in at 14:30 while Esmer Gonzales was 21st and Alba Dominguez was 31st. Emma Hernandez was 32nd, Tayla Elizondo came in 33rd, Tori Vega was 38th, Natalia Vega finished 39th, Saynika Weaver was 40th and Sieya Martinez finished 42nd.
Previously, Pearsall competed at Devine on Wednesday, September 30.
Zaine Leal was seventh at that meet, Herrada was 11th, Fraizer finished 14th, Ellis was 17th and Seth Salinas came in 21st.
In the girls’ division, Kebbi was 16th, Gonzalez placed 23rd, Hernandez was 18th, Domiguez finished 21st and Elizondo was 20th.
Tori Vega was 27th and Natalie Vega was 28th. Weaver was 31st and Martinez finished 32nd.
Garza competed in the JV division at Devine and was 14th overall.
Pearsall is slated to be in action in Uvalde this Saturday, October 17. The district meet is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28 in Uvalde.
