Marilee Franklin Davis Hardcastle, known as Mert by many, died on Monday, October 5, 2020, at the age of 93 in Castroville. She was born to Leo Jerome (Mike) Franklin and Ruby Lee (Susie) House.
She was the second of ten siblings.
She is preceded in death by husband William Hardcastle, daughters Margo Davis, Frankie Davis, and Barbie Davis, son William Tim Davis, son-in-law Charles Griffith, sisters Louise Dalton and Matt Saunders, brother LJ Franklin and two baby boys.
Marilee is survived by daughters Bonnie Jean Davis of Big Spring, Billie June Griffith of Harlingen, and son Larry Davis of Austin, grandchildren Shelly Nietubyc, James Griffith, David Griffith, Mike Davis, Trey Pendleton, Mary Pendleton and Bonnie Catt, as well as great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, siblings June Gebert, Doris Boeker, Frankie Petty (husband Ronny Petty), Bonnie Hinkel (husband James Hinkel), and sister-in-law Sharon Franklin and numerous nieces, nephews and many other family members.
Marilee spent many years working at Security State Bank in Pearsall and raising her seven children.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 10 at the Pearsall Cemetery with interment immediately following.
