BI-DISTRICT VOLLEYBALL PLAYOFFS
Competing in a revamped District 30-4A, Pearsall defeated Uvalde in a fourth place playoff on Monday evening, October 26 in Hondo to earn the final playoff spot in the league and earn a bi-district match against Devine this Thursday.
During the UIL’s biennial realignment this year, Pearsall was placed into a five-team 30-4A with Hondo, Uvalde, Carrizo Springs and Crystal City.
Devine was moved to District 29-4A with San Antonio Brooks Academy, SA Young Women’s Leadership Academy, San Antonio Fox Tech and Somerset.
The Arabians rolled to their league title with an 8-0 mark and did not even lose a single set in district, sweeping every opponent 3-0.
The bi-district match is slated for Thursday, October 29 at 6 p.m. in Devine.
Pearsall earned their way to the bi-district matchup via a 2-7 district mark.
The team won two of three matchups against Uvalde, including the league tiebreaker on Monday to earn the final playoff spot.
Monday’s win was a tough outing as the Lady Mavs took the victory in five tight sets, winning 25-18, 12-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-11.
