Benigno G. Villarreal, (Nino), 82, died on October 21, 2020 in hospice care in Corpus Christi. He was born on January 65, 1938 to Benigno Sr. & Amelia Villarreal in Cotulla.
Nino is preceded in death by his parents, wife Sylvia, brother Vicente and son John Frank.
He is survived by his sister Amelia, son Anthony and his wife Theresa Villarreal of Corpus Christi, son David Michael Villarreal of Corpus Christi and grandchildren Catherine Siena Villarreal, Anthony Joseph Villarreal and John Paul Villarreal.
He graduated from Cotulla High School and married his high school sweetheart Sylvia. Together they celebrated 58 years of marriage in Cotulla.
Nino retired from the Texas Department of Transportation after serving 39 years in the highway construction field. He traveled all over the US, Mexico and the Caribbean with his wife on many cruises, train tours, bus tours and road trips. Among his hobbies was building something on his ranch and walking the many trails with his dog.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, November 4 at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Cotulla.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla.
