Ruben G. Cantu, 90 of Dilley, died on November 23, 2020 at his home. He was born on August 6, 1930 in Dilley to Antonio Cantu and Rosa Gonzales Cantu.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Maria de la Luz Cantu, grandson Jose Alfredo Espinosa and numeorus siblings.

He is survived by his children Delgadina Gonzales of Dilley, Ruby Hicks (Billy) of Dallas, Debbie Cantu of Dilley, Julia DuBose (Jay) of Dilley, Juanita Duran (Ignacio) of Dilley, Juan Ruben Cantu (Elena) of Dilley, Ruben Antonio Gonzales (Mary Jo) of Dilley, Joe Brian Espinosa (Priscilla) of Dallas, siblings Isamel Cantu of Cotulla, Ester Ramirez of California, Orfalinda Cantu of Colorado and Tina Villanueva of Devine. He is also survived by four generations of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitaton was held on Tuesday, November 24 at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapel in Dilley from 3 to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass was held on Wednesday, November 25 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Interment followed at the Dilley Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels, Pearsall.
