Suspects still at large; video surveillance shows crimes in progress
Pearsall police are seeking help identifying two masked men who robbed a local liquor store on Saturday, November 28.
The business on Louise Lane near the intersection of Comal Street and IH-35 was broken into around 6 a.m., according to police, and the intruders used a rock to shatter the glass of the store’s front door.
Investigating officers have stated they were able to use video surveillance footage to capture images of the two unidentified men stealing several cartons of cigarettes and one bottle of liquor from the Western Beverage store.
At the same hour, officers were dispatched to the HEB grocery store after members of the management team discovered that two panes of glass had been shattered at the gas station attendant’s office. The gas station is located across Louise Lane from the liquor store. Officers have indicated they believe the crimes are connected, as thieves appeared to be targeting stocks of tobacco.
Police are confirming this week that both businesses were able to provide video surveillance footage of the same suspects and are asking for any additional tips from the community. Officers are describing one of the suspects as heavy-set with a receding hairline. The man is of average height while the second suspect is tall and thin, according to officers.
The Pearsall Police Department is asking that anyone with information related to the crime spree call officers at (830) 334-4169.
The suspects face Class A misdemeanor charges for criminal mischief and state jail felony charges for burglary of a building.
