Spread the goodness

Pearsall native Tejano music performer Joe Vic Reyna has concluded his annual charitable drive, choosing an online auction this year instead of a public concert due to coronavirus constraints, helping to raise money for needy families impacted by cancer. His raffle on Facebook Live generated hundreds of dollars from contributors to the charitable effort, and Reyna added some of his own funds to the total, eventually building $2,000 that would be distributed among those with the greatest need. Reyna and his team received several applications for assistance from across Texas, having asked families who have dealt with or are currently battling cancer to recount their stories. The team prioritized the letters and also focused on helping hometown and South Texas families. Presentations were made in late November (Photos this page) to Jo Ann Gallegos, Sonia Trevino Campos, Mona Medelez, and Sonia and Arturo Hernandez. Reyna said this week that he was pleased to be able to offer the support to the local families in times of hardship and that he is grateful to his supporters and fans for their contributions.
