Edith Elnora (Marley) Franklin, 98 and known as “Nonie”, died on December 16, 2020, in Cotulla. She was born August 7, 1922, in Fowlerton to William Henry Marley and Margaret Emma (Hardcastle) Marley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank E. Franklin Sr., siblings Henrietta Weatherly, William “Bill” Marley, Elizabeth Avant, Roxie Marley, Louis Marley, Mamie “Tiny” Fiedler, Carton Wayne “C.W.” Marley, Travis “Sonny Boy” Marley, Cecil Marley, Jesse Marley and by her daughter-in-law Judy Lansford Franklin (Bill).
She is survived by two sisters, Fayrene Ulbrich, and Anna “Sue” Dean, sons Harvey (Shirley), Frank “Babe”(Donna), Robert (Pam), William “Bill” and Wayne (Louisa), 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Nonie was a life-long resident of Fowlerton, and graduated from Fowlerton High School in 1940, after which she and Frank married in Tilden. She was a life-long member of the Fowlerton Baptist Church and served as church secretary/treasurer for over 70 years.
The family held a private, graveside service at the Fowlerton Cemetery. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a later time.
