Jose G. Velasquez of Cotulla died on January 13, 2021 at the age of 82. He was born on September 1, 1938 in Cotulla to Geronimo and Librada Velasquez.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Hortencia Velasquez and Geronimo Velasquez Jr.

Velasquez is survived by his children Maria V. (Octavio) Garza, Jo-Ana (Abram) De La Garza and Julie Velasquez, grandchildren Jeremiah Garza, Daniella Renee Garza, Abreana Champion, Abram De La Garza Jr., Alekzandra De La Garza and Richard Noe Garcia Jr., great grandchild Elijah Marcelo Franco, siblings Angel (Elvira) Velasquez, Senovio (Manuela) Velasquez and Joselfa (Erasmo) De Leon. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorial Services were held on Tuesday, January 19 at the Living Faith Family Worship Church at 11 a.m.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla.
