Ruby Helen (Happy) Everertt died on January 20, 2021 at Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio. She was born on May 16, 1938 in Paris, Texas to Lester and Edna Earl Powell.
She was preceded in death by her husband Travis, her parents and three siblings.
Happy is survived by all five children Joe, Troy, Zach, Dana and Linda, 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Happy married Travis Everett on November 12, 1955 and they were married for 54 years until Travis’ death on January 23, 2010. They had four children together, Troy Everett of Eagle Pass, Zach Everett of Bryan, Dana Embry of Pearsall, Linda Jones of Dublin, Texas and a stepson, Joe Martin of Brownwood.
Happy was a member of Eastern Star Lodge 693 in Comanche and owned Happy’s BBQ and Happy’s Trucking in Pearsall for 18 years with Travis.
She enjoyed crocheting and doing cross stitch, cooking and was known for her cobblers, peanut brittle, banana pudding and brisket and potato salad.
Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home on Monday, January 25 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 26 at the First Baptist Church in Pearsall at 10 a.m. and interment followed at the Pearsall Cemetery.
