A Cotulla woman who was remanded into custody on a number of outstanding warrants on Sunday, March 14, now faces a felony drug possession charge after officers examining her car discovered it contained bags of crystal methamphetamine.
Tracy Grassmuck, 57, had been arrested after a routine traffic stop by Deputy Mario Ybarra shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday and her car, a black 2010 Mercedes sedan, was impounded at the La Salle County Sheriff’s Yard. During the course of a vehicle inventory, officers found the bags of narcotics in the console between the front seats, according to a brief report on the case.
Grassmuck is listed as having an Illinois driving license. She had been listed on warrants signed by a La Salle County justice of the peace for speeding, violating a promise to appear in court, and driving while her license was suspended. A second-degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1, between four and 200 grams, was added after she had been booked in the La Salle County Jail.
She remained in jail in lieu of bond Monday.
