Dilley will send ten athletes to area competition in Poth on April 14 following competition at the District 27-3A event last week in Jourdanton.
“I knew we did not have a shot at the district title because we simply did not have the numbers,” DHS Head Coach Victor Flores said. “However, I am very proud of our athletes’ performances. We messed up in one of the jumping events. Pressure and anxiety can get to you at big meets, such as this one. I also felt bad about Eddie Ramos, who was tripped and pushed on the 800m run. I tried to argue the ruling but to no luck. I hope that we will be better prepared next time. I know Eddie will come back stronger next year.”
Area qualifiers include Skyler Bradshaw, Jazlynn Bradshaw, Janae Galindo, Esai Lozano, Dorian Aranda, Cristian Aranda, Jhonathan Trevino, Derik Garcia and Anthony Guerra.
