The Moore Community Improvement Club held its regular meeting on Wednesday evening, April 19 at the community center and discussed plans for the Moore Summerfest.
The event, billed as a day of family fun with plans for a barbecue brisket cook-off, silent raffle and a corn hole tournament, is slated for July 10.
“Details will follow at our next meeting which is on May 5 at 7 p.m.,” Moore Community Improvement Club member Shelley Delgado said. “We want to make sure there will be food and drinks and family fun for all, so make sure you’re a part of the planning process and join us in these crucial planning meetings.”
The local food distribution service, the Moore Senior Box Program, is still working to enroll residents for the elderly program.
“We ask that you continue to spread the word so all qualified seniors can benefit from this program,” Delgado said. “Anyone wishing to sign up can call (830) 931-1740 for information.”
Additional food services are available through the Frio County commodities distribution. For information, call (830) 931-1740 to be added to the list. Distribution times vary so adding one’s name to the list will provide direct information on distribution dates.
The Moore Community Improvement Club is active on Facebook (Moore Community News) where information is available and updated regularly or for any additional questions.
