Dilley High School celebrated its athletes accomplishments in the midst of a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic at the annual Athletic Banquet on Monday, May 10 in the high school cafeteria.
Cristian Aranda and Mia Valenzuela were named the All-Around Athletic Boy and Girl at the event, the top honor for student-athletes that exemplify what it means to be a Dilley Wolf or Lady Wolf.
Following the traditional meal, athletic awards were presented to the following athletes for their hard work and dedication in their respected sports: Football: Most Valuable Player – Cristian Aranda, Offensive MVP – Carlos Gonzales, Defensive MVP – Santiago Reyna, Saul Obregon Award – Vicente Correa and Adrian Carrasco; Volleyball: MVP – Mia Valenzuela; Cross Country: Boys’ MVP – Anthony Guerra and Edgardo Ramos, Girls’ MVP – Isabel Hernandez and Chloe Rodriguez; Basketball: Boys MVP – Landon Keck, Girls’ MVP – Jeralyn Gonzales; Baseball: co-MVPs – Garrett Castor and Juan ‘Deuce’ Cano; Softball: MVP – Faith Abcde Aranda; Track: Boys’ MVP – Cristian Aranda and Esai Lozano; Girls’ MVP – Janae Galindo; Tennis: Girls’ MVP – Danissa Tijerina
Golf: Boys’ MVP – Braydon Foster, Girls’ MVP – Belle Girtman; Powerlifting: Boys’ MVP – Damian Rodriguez, Girls’ MVP – Kelsey Eguia.
