Law enforcement officers from across South Texas joined La Salle County Sheriff’s Office staff in the AB Alexander Convention Center in Cotulla for three days of training seminars last week hosted by the Combined Law Enforcement Associates of Texas (CLEAT), whose presenter, DPS Sgt. Oscar Esqueda (Left photo), provided updates on procedures, officer interaction with subjects, drug traffic and organized crime intervention, and interview techniques for use in the field. La Salle County Sheriff Anthony Zertuche says he believes the training is vital to keep officers of all ranks refreshed in policies and procedures, up to date on developing trends in criminal activity, and informed of new resources available in community policing as well as patrols of the region’s principal roads and highways.
