LITTLE CRAFTY THING
Sometimes you need a simple kid craft! This is sure to entertain them!
1 cup clear hand soap or tear-free baby shampoo
½ cup cornstarch
Liquid food coloring
In a mixing bowl, add the soap and the cornstarch. Mix it up until all lumps are gone. Add 1 tsp water and stir the mixture. If it is still too thick, continue adding water until you reach your desired bath paint consistency.
Pour the soap mixture into several small cups. A great tool to use for this is a muffin pan. Add 2 drops of food coloring per tin and mix. Repeat for as much mixture as you have, using different colors.
If desired, carefully transfer paints into squeeze bottles, or simply get out some brushes.
Throw everyone in the tub or into a kiddie pool outside and paint the day away!
Remember, while the dye shouldn’t stain, there’s always a chance, so test your tub before hand, and don’t let the kids wear something you’ll be upset about adding color to!
Some color basics to help, and a great thing to teach to kids:
Primary colors: red, yellow, and blue
Red + yellow = orange
Blue + yellow = green
Red + blue = purple/violet
Get creative! What other colors can you make?
