Meat and music, family fun…
The inaugural Moore Summer Fest featuring a brisket barbecue cookoff contest and cornhole tournament, live DJ music, a sausage plate sale and vendors will be this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, July 10 and 11 on the grounds of the Moore Community Club.
“There will be something for everyone this weekend to enjoy including the kiddos with our variety of fun carnival games and prizes,” MCIC representative Shelley Delgado said. “We thank those who have already been so gracious and have been donating and are asking anyone who can donate to please do so.”
Delgado said donations can be in the form of supplies, funds, time, or services. Interested volunteers can sign up at the following online link: https://tinyurl.com/4bcvu757.
“The success of this event is determined by the vital participation of our community, and we appreciate any and everything sent our way that can help us out,” Delgado said. “Come see the visible changes made just for the preparation for this event.”
Delgado also extended her thanks to Pearsall ISD and Frio County for assistance with improvements to the community center and the old gym.
“There is much work to still be done but now it’s time to come together and celebrate our community,” she said. “Our committee has been working tirelessly to ensure Summer Fest is not just another summer carnival and weekend stop, but a time for our community and families to come together after the long and trying year we have all been though.
“It is time for us to celebrate in the company of each other and be grateful for the blessings we have all been given. No matter who you are or who you know, you are welcome at the Moore Community Improvement Club, so come on down and celebrate with us.”
