Children and adults in the community shared an afternoon with Pearsall Police officers during an outreach event earlier this month.
Chief Humberto Torralba said his goal for the event was to organize community relation building such as POPsicles with Cops as a way to build trust with the residents of Pearsall.
“It was a hot day,” the chief said. “So we were pretty popular.”
Officers used a patrol unit as a make-shift ice cream truck and handed out popsicles, badge stickers, balloons and other refreshments to attendees.
“For several hours officers escorted the visitors to the popsicle cruiser where the sirens were blaring and the emergency lights were flashing,” the police chief said.
