The Woman’s Club of Cotulla awarded three scholarships of $1,250 each and one high English award for $1,250 to members of the graduating CHS class at the Senior Awards Ceremony on May 24.
Club member and Scholarship Committee Chairman Nora Martinez attended the event to present these students with their scholarships.
Brandyn Ramirez was awarded the Betsy Hopkins Memorial Scholarship, Leodoro Martinez IV was awarded the Fredna Knaggs Dobie Wood Memorial Scholarship and Chloe Ramirez was awarded the Julia Tucker Memorial Scholarship.
The Elizabeth Jones Memorial High English Award was given to Carolina Ruiz, the senior graduating with the highest average in English.
The Woman’s Club of Cotulla is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, one of the world’s oldest and largest women’s volunteer and service organizations. Scholarship and education has always been a priority of the women’s organization.
