Tejano music entertainer Jesse Turner, vocalist for the band Siggno, was among the headlining acts at the Hispanic Heritage Festival held at Polo Patino Park in Pearsall on Saturday evening, October 9. The two-day celebration featured a number of renowned artists, food booths, refreshments and games.
Area residents flocked to Pearsall’s Polo Patino Park for the Hispanic Heritage Festival on Saturday, October 9-10. The free event featured live entertainment featuring award-winning Tejano band Siggno on Saturday evening and other acts on Sunday. Organizers indicate the event drew over 8,000 people. Hispanic Heritage Month is a celebration of American citizens whose ancestry can be traced back to Spain, Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean. The celebration is held from September 15 to October 15 each year; beginning in the middle of the month because the 15th marks the independence day of five Latin American countries.
