October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Cotulla’s NHS hosts ‘Pink Out’ 5K walk Friday

Members of the National Honor Society at Cotulla High School will welcome fellow students and the general public to Myers Memorial Stadium at 7:45 a.m. Friday, October 14, for the fundraising ‘Pink Out’ walk to help raise awareness of breast cancer.
Participants will walk the stadium track from 8 to 9 a.m. wearing as many pink items of clothing as they choose; organizers hope that the crowd of walkers will be represented by a wave of pink shirts and hats as they make their way around the circuit for an approximate total of five kilometers.
Prizes are awarded while supplies last; spectators are welcome to cheer from the stadium grandstands on the visitor side.
Admission to the event is $5, and wristbands are on sale through the NHS and at the Cotulla High School Library or by calling (830) 879-2374, ext. 2020. Those not purchasing wristbands in advance may pay admission at the stadium gate immediately before the event.
Proceeds from the event go to the Cotulla High School Chapter of the National Honor Society for an educational trip or related activity for the students.
