A holiday tradition returns to Cotulla on the second weekend of December in the annual Country Christmas, which will be hosted at the county fairgrounds on Hwy 97.
The Cotulla Country Christmas is organized again by the La Salle County Fair Association and will be held in the Exhibition Barn and adjoining Fair Pavilion. Vendors will offer homemade decor, arts and crafts, seasonal items, jewelry, clothing, woodwork and metalwork, gift foods and other goodies in the holiday theme.
Doors to the barn will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11; and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12. Admission is free to the public.
Santa Claus is scheduled to make a visit and meet children at the event from 2 p.m. onwards Saturday.
Organizers are expecting crowds of all ages to return for the traditional occasion after a year’s absence; the Country Christmas was canceled in 2020 due to health and safety concerns during the coronavirus pandemic.
Booth spaces remain available at $25 each. Reservations are made by calling the fair association at (830) 879-2852. Vendors will be able to set up their tables and displays Friday afternoon, Dec. 10, and early Saturday.
