A Dilley couple was arrested on felony drug charges after authorities reported finding a large number of illegal narcotics in their car and home on Thursday, November 11.
According to a report on the case, investigating officers discovered packaged methamphetamine in the vehicle.
Dilley police said that an interview with 43-year-old Veronica Martinez after a routine traffic stop revealed inconsistencies that raised suspicions of illegal activity.
“The information she provided us led us to believe there were more narcotics at their home,” Sgt. Adrian Ruiz said.
A search warrant was issued for a residence occupied by Martinez and her husband, AJ Martinez, 35, on CR 4600, where officers and Frio County deputies discovered what they are describing as “a distributor amount of methamphetamine.”
The couple was arrested and transported to the Frio County Jail without further incident.
“This is an ongoing investigation and we will be following all leads,” the sergeant said. “We will continue to deter, disrupt and dismantle illegal operations for the betterment of the citizens of Dilley and Frio County.”
