The traditional lighted Christmas parade returns to Cotulla on Friday evening, December 3, when families, businesses, students and local clubs will decorate their vehicles and trailers for the procession to a tree lighting ceremony downtown.
Beginning at Las Palmas at the north end of Main Street at 6:30 p.m., the parade of lighted and decorated vehicles will make its way to Veterans Park, where the community will gather to watch the city’s Christmas tree lit at 7 p.m. and where children will meet Santa Claus.
The event is being coordinated by City Hall and the Cotulla Main Street Program. Spokesperson Karina Sauceda said this week that several community members have already registered to take part in the parade.
Children at the park will be given goody bags when they meet Santa Claus; hot cocoa and juice will be offered by the Cotulla – La Salle County Chamber of Commerce; members of the First United Methodist Church will have a booth offering cookies.

Parade registry of decorated vehicles and floats is made in person at City Hall or via the city’s Facebook page, through a link to a Google application form. Further information is available from City Hall staff at (830) 879-2367.
