Youths up to age 18 receive $100
An offer of $100 is now available in La Salle County to all children ages 5 through 18 if they will complete their series of two COVID-19 vaccines from the county’s emergency medics.
Flyers are now being posted at public buildings and businesses throughout the county with the offer, which stipulates that children taking the vaccine must have had their second of two shots in the series by December 31 in order to qualify for the reward. Youths age 18 must still be enrolled in high school to be eligible for the cash incentive.
Vaccines are given Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Larry Griffin Emergency Operations Center (EOC), 247 Mars Drive, in the Las Palmas business park between North Main Street and the IH-35 access road in Cotulla.
Adults looking to take their first or second shots of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine against COVID-19 are also able to register for them at the EOC, although the cash offer is only available to youths.
Further information on the vaccines is available from La Salle Fire Rescue at (830) 483-5166 or 202-1475.
