Pearsall won two straight before falling to Blanco in non-district action prior to the Christmas break this week.
The LaVdy Mavs traveled to Ingram to take down the Tom Moore Warriors in a low-scoring 37-21 decision.
“We were able to weather through a rowdy and aggressive home court crowd and come away with a win,” PHS Head Coach Victoria Rodriguez said.
Alyssa Garcia and Natalia Vega lead the team with eight points each. Garcia also added five blocks. Karicia Garcia finished with seven points.
“As a team, we stuck to the game plan and stayed focused on our goals,” Rodriguez said. “It has been a tough season but every game we are making improvements and most importantly, we are staying competitive and positive.”
In action on Saturday, Pearsall rolled to a 60-28 win over Dilley.
Sophia Garza and Nevaeh Ramon led the way with ten points apiece and the team connected on a season-high seven three pointers. Ramon had two of the seven three pointers.
Sarah Brady added eight points and also hit two three pointers while Karlina Rodriguez tallied six points.
On Monday, December 21, the Lady Mavs dropped a 40-27 decision to Blanco at home.
Garcia paced the team with ten points, three blocks, two rebounds and a steal while Karlina Rodriguez had six points, a steal and a rebound. Garza added four points and 12 rebounds.
Pearsall hosted Bandera Tuesday prior to the Christmas break. Their final non-district contest is December 28 at Devine. League play begins January 7 at Uvalde.
