William (Bill) Ashby Maltsberger Sr.

William (Bill) Ashby Maltsberger Sr., 85, died on February 15, 2022. He was born in San Antonio on October 24, 1936 to John Terry (Jack) Maltsberger, Jr. and Ruth Rogers Maltsberger.

He was the husband of Sarah Lee Maltsberger. They shared fifty-six years of marriage and ranching together in La Salle County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother J.T. “Terry” Maltsberger III, M.D. and his grandparents.

Bill is survived by his five children and son-in-law, including Bill Jr., Sarita (Brad Bickham), Jack Storey, Annyce (Konrad Kuykendall), and Helena Hatlevig, eight grandchildren Brin Ashby (Jon Bressette), Sarah Blake (J.T. Robinson), Lane Ashby and Rafe Lee Kuykendall, Haden Alan, Holden Collins, Mason Ashby, and Madison Lee Hatlevig and great-grandaughter Palmer Rae Bressette.

The family has extended its appreciation and gratitude to William A. Atlas, M.D. and caregivers Juanita, Cristabel, Veronica, Agustina, Claudia, Adela, and Vicky for their care and compassion over the last few years of his life.

Private graveside services will be held in the Cotulla Cemetery.
