Dear Tessie,
I really enjoy reading, but my favorite books are mostly novels from the YA section. My friends love to tease me about this, but I really don’t feel like it matters what section or recommended age a good story comes from. Is it so bad for a grown woman to enjoy a book meant for a teenager?
Sincerely,
Jessica
Dear Jessica,
In this day and age, I can’t imagine trying to pester anyone for reading at all. In my experience, so many people have entirely dropped reading books in favor of screens, television, and movies. Oh we certainly read plenty as we scroll through our phones and messages, but very little imaginative work is involved.
And young people… I’m not sure they read at all. They unquestionably don’t pay attention in their English classes anymore, it’s almost impossible to read an essay produced by young people.
Do not fear judgment from anyone about your reading. I don’t believe that it’s anyone’s business what age level or subject matter that any of us reads, if I’m being honest. I just like hearing that I’m not the only old dinosaur out here who might visit a library!
Love, Tessie
Dear Tessie,
I’m extremely bitter toward my former coworker, and I really want to get back at her for all the disagreements and things that caused us trouble white she worked closely with me. I need to get over it mostly, I’m sure, but I’m just not sure at this point.

Dear friend,
In all my years, I’ve had a few grudges. Nobody is perfect. We’ve all seen our share of trouble and misfortune. We’ve all had the times where we can only be hopeful that things will just pep up.
My advice to you, truly… The best revenge is no revenge… move on, be happy, find inner peace. Hate and anger require a lot of energy from you, and do very little to the other person. Free yourself from that, keep your chin up, and let the troubles go.
Love, Tessie
