Floral Wreath Collage
From the author: I love the way that collage works with materials you already have or can get easily and cheaply. I found loads of botanical books and magazines at a thrift shop, as well as flower catalogs, and spent an evening watching movies and cutting out flowers.
-old botanical books, gardening magazines, flower catalogs
-standard scissors and small sharp scissors
-adhesive spray or glue stick
-flat wooden wreath base
-foam sticker squares
1. Cut out flowers from books, magazines, and catalogs.
2. Paste the flowers onto cardstock with adhesive spray or a glue stick to make them stiffer. Let dry.
3. Cut carefully around each flower with small, sharp scissors, as close to the edge as possible. Use a trash bag to dispose of scraps as you go.
4. Arrange a bottom layer of flowers on the wreath base and use the glue gun to affix. Save the real showstoppers for the top. Once the bottom layer is complete, use foam sticker squares to create second and third layers around the wreath.
*Optional: Top with a beautiful ribbon or a faux bird—or both!
