2022 EDYE LEA RELAYS
Four and a half points separate top three boys’ teams at Pearsall meet.
The Mavericks finished third overall in a tight, three-team race while the Lady Mavs were also third at the second annual Edye Lea Relays in Pearsall on Saturday, March 26 at Mack Laxson Field.
A mere four and a half points separated the top three teams at the event as Devine took the top spot with 105 points. Carrizo Springs was second with 102 points while Pearsall finished third at 100.5 points.
Pearsall had athletes place in almost every event while Jose Ramirez, Joseph De La Rosa and Weston Hurst all picked up gold medals for Pearsall by taking first in the long jump, shot put and pole vault events.

The Lady Mavs tallied 82 points to finish third at the event. Devine took first place with 167 points while San Antonio Antonian was second with 125 points.
Ebony Garza and Jezzie Leal won the only gold medals for the Lady Mavs as they were first overall in the 100m dash and high jump.
Esmeralda Gonzalez was second in the pole vault. Pearsall’s 800m and mile relay teams were second and third and the sprint relay squad dropped the baton on its second exchange and did not place.

Pearsall was back in action on Wednesday, March 30 at the Warhorse Invitational Track Meet in Devine.
