DISTRICT 27-3A JUNIOR HIGH TRACK & FIELD
Cotulla’s seventh grade Cowboys were crowned champions of their division while the seventh grade Cowgirls were runners-up at the District 27-3A track and field meet on March 25 in Poth.
The eighth grade Cowboys finished fifth overall and the eighth grade Cowgirls were sixth at the event.
“The future looks bright for Cotulla with these student-athletes coming up,” CHS Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Marcus Booker said. “They always seem to dig deep, regardless of the numbers they have as a team.
“These kids’ heart is the reason I am proud to call them my Cotulla Cowboys. The coaches did a great job and it was definitely a great way to end the track season.”
The 7th grade team competed with only 14 team members. The relay team of Frankie Torres, Rene Barrera, Bradyn Rodriguez and Robert Perales dominated the 800m and mile relay events. The team of Trevor Rodriguez, Robert Perales, Bradyn Rodriguez, and Rene Barrera won the 400m relay.
