Mavs finish third, Lady Mavs fifth at Warhorse Relays in Devine

HIGH SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD
Pleasanton led the way with 108 points to earn the team title at the Warhorse Relays in Devine while the Mavericks finished third with 86 points, a mere eight points away from second place at the event last Wednesday, March 30.
There were 16 teams entered in the division.
Pearsall captured a number of second and third place medals at the meet and Jose Ramirez captured the only gold, taking first in the triple jump. Pearsall’s relay teams also finished third in all three events.
Pearsall’s Lady Mavs tallied 59 points and were fifth overall in a field of 16 teams. Bandera won the event with 149 points.
Jezzie Leal paced the team at the event, taking first in the high jump for a fifth straight week. Ebony Garza was second in the 100m dash while the sprint relay and 800m relay teams were both third overall.

Pearsall is scheduled to compete at the Ro-Hawk Relays in Randolph this Thursday, April 7.
