The high school mariachi band earned a Division I rating of ‘Superior,’ as well as awards for best vocals and best trumpet sections in the varsity division for 3A schools.
The middle school mariachi band came home with an armful of awards from Robstown, including a Division I ‘Superior’ rating and trophies for best violin section, best trumpet section, best rhythm section, and best vocals in the 1C Middle School category of judging.
A coveted prize for the Newman musicians last weekend was the ‘Overall Best in Show’ trophy for middle school bands.
