The Uvalde de las Encinas Chapter National Daughters of the American Revolution held its regular meeting on April 9 at the El Progreso Memorial Library.
The group held an in-house field trip as John Oberman, owner of D’Hanis Brick and Tile, shared his knowledge of his company from its founding to his present ownership. He also shared pictures of many buildings that have been built with his company’s products.
Members present included Chaplain Nancy Baker, Jan Chism, Recording Secretary Karen Collins, Treasurer Jakelynn Crawford, Diane Dooley, Regent Billie Franklin, Alice Hicks, Parliamentarian Lesley Jones, Vice-Regent Betty Lawrence, Registrar Revis Leonard, Yvonne Quigley, and Rosie Reyes. Guests were Kay Erkert, John and Nancy Oberman, and Ann Turkowski.
Oberman and his wife were presented with a gift for their participation at the meeting.
