COUNTY ARRESTS

Thirty-five individuals were arrested in La Salle County over a three-week period in April on a range of felony and misdemeanor charges as well as on warrants issued in other jurisdictions.
The majority of cases in the county during the month involved the attempted smuggling of undocumented immigrants through South Texas and narcotics possession.
Arrests were made by deputies of the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office, troopers of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, and officers of the Encinal Police Department.
In addition to those being housed in La Salle County on behalf of other jurisdictions and those serving commitment by order of the courts, those taken into custody between Monday, April 4, and Sunday, April 24, with arrest times logged at booking in the La Salle County Jail, were as follows:
Anthony Jerome Hankins, 50, of San Antonio; arrested 9:55 a.m. Monday, April 4, by the Texas DPS; state jail felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, warrant issued in Bexar County for driving while license is not valid (enhanced charge); transferred after three days.
John Alden Friesenhahn, 19, of Cotulla; arrested 5:25 p.m. Monday, April 4, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace for failure to appear in court or violating a promise to appear (three counts), violating a promise to appear in court on charges of driving without a license (two counts), failure to appear in court on a charge of driving with an expired registration; released on bond after two days, 22 hours.
Jeremiah Joe Anthony Villarreal, 19, of San Antonio; arrested 10:20 p.m. Monday, April 4, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (three counts); remained in jail Monday, April 25.
Jadus Rae Ochoa, 20, of San Antonio; arrested 10:20 p.m. Monday, April 4, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (three counts); released on bond after two days, 22 hours.
Damaris Grisell Gallegos, 24, of El Paso, Texas; arrested 10:47 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, by the Encinal PD; second-degree felony smuggling of persons with likelihood of serious injury or death (two counts), third-degree felony smuggling of persons (five counts); released on bond after 15 days, four hours.
Christopher Anthony Custer, 25, of Pearsall; arrested 4:13 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle District Court for failure to appear in court on a charge of drug possession; remained in jail Monday, April 25.
Angel Isaiah Velasquez III, 18, of Cotulla; arrested 12:48 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after six hours.
Julie Ann Contreras, 34, of Cotulla; arrested 7:35 p.m. Thursday, April 7, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor violating a bond or protective order; released on bond after 19 hours.
Jesus Antonio Ayala, 33, of Cotulla; arrested 2:16 a.m. Friday, April 8, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace for failure to appear in court, failure to maintain financial responsibility, driving without a license, and bail jumping, warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace for violating a promise to appear in court; released on bond after 11 hours.
Maria Luisa Luna, 29, of San Antonio; arrested 3:25 p.m. Sunday, April 10, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (four counts); released on bond after four days, 20 hours.
Esequiel Garcia III, 38, of Cotulla; arrested 9:40 a.m. Monday, April 11, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated; released on bond after 22 hours.
Adam Gonzalez, 20, of Encinal; arrested 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, by the Encinal PD; state jail felony driving while intoxicated with a child passenger under age 15; released on bond after four hours.
Natarivis Marquis Robertson, 44, of Houston; arrested 1:13 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (six counts), Class A misdemeanor unlawfully carrying a weapon; remained in jail Monday, April 25.
Jimmie Lee O’Neal Jr., 22, of Houston; arrested 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (three counts), Class A misdemeanor unlawfully carrying a weapon; remained in jail Monday, April 25.
Zenobia Leiann Teamer, 26, of Houston; arrested 1:32 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (three counts); released on bond after seven days, 20 hours.
Adan Roman Guerrero, 35, of Crystal City, Texas; arrested 5:42 a.m. Friday, April 15, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in Bexar County for second-degree felony family violence assault by choking or strangulation; transferred after five days, two hours.
Jimmy Ray Fuentes, 21, of Crystal City, Texas; arrested 5:42 a.m. Friday, April 15, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 3; released on bond after 17 hours.
David Lee Alaniz, 36, of Cotulla; arrested 10:05 a.m. Friday, April 15, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in Medina County for first-degree felony sexual abuse of a child and third-degree felony injury to a child or elderly person; released on bond after five days, 12 hours.
Juan Carlos Lemus-Flores, 34, of Houston; arrested 10:48 a.m. Saturday, April 16, by the Texas DPS; Class A misdemeanor evading arrest or detention, third-degree felony smuggling of persons (four counts), second degree smuggling of persons under age 18; remained in jail Monday, April 25.
Liovardo Aguilera, 49, of Castroville, Texas; arrested 7:37 p.m. Saturday, April 16, by the Sheriff’s Office; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, warrant issued in Live Oak County for probation violation; remained in jail Monday, April 25.
Luis G. Hernandez-Santos, 31, of Del Valle, Texas; arrested 9:39 p.m. Saturday, April 16, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (two counts), warrants issued in Williamson County for possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 and burglary of a habitation; remained in jail Monday, April 25.

Guillermo Eduardo Trejo-Ruiz, 20, of Houston; arrested 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, by the Encinal PD; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (two counts); released on bond after one day, 15 hours.
Pedro Eddie Rodriguez, 19, of Laredo; arrested 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, by the Texas DPS; Class A misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 3; released on bond after 16 hours.
Eric Lynn Lara, 34, of San Diego, Texas; arrested 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, by the Texas DPS; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; released on bond after one day, six hours.
Fernando Jay Gonzalez, 30, of Cotulla; arrested 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor criminal trespass; released on bond after one day.
Ashley Lafaye Coleman, 38, of San Antonio; arrested 4:45 p.m. Friday, April 22, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons; remained in jail Monday, April 25.
James Butler Hall, 56, of Bryan, Texas; arrested 9:20 p.m. Friday, April 22, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (11 counts), warrants issued in Brazos County for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1, driving while intoxicated, and possession of marijuana; remained in jail Monday, April 25.
Michelle Leanne Cavazos, 46, of San Antonio; arrested 1:55 a.m. Saturday, April 23, by the Texas DPS; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2, possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; remained in jail Monday, April 25.
Johnny Joe Valles, 43, of Winters, Texas; arrested 1:25 a.m. Saturday, April 23, by the Texas DPS; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2, state jail felony tampering with or fabricating evidence with intent to impair; remained in jail Monday, April 25.
