COUNTY ARRESTS

Twenty individuals were arrested in La Salle County over a two-week period between April and May on a range of felony and misdemeanor charges as well as on warrants issued in other jurisdictions.
Arrests were made by sheriff’s deputies, troopers of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, and officers of the Encinal Police Department.
In addition to those being held on behalf of other jurisdictions and those serving commitment by order of the courts, those taken into custody between Monday, April 25, and Sunday, May 8, with arrest times logged at booking in the La Salle County Jail, were as follows:
Angelita Villapondo Lopez, 42, of Cotulla; arrested 1:42 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, by the Texas DPS; warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace for violating a promise to appear in court, warrants issued in Bexar County for fraudulent use of up to five items of identification, forgery up to $2,500 in value, and theft up to $30,000; released on bond after one day, five hours.
Jesus Santana-Bautista, 41, of Freer, Texas; arrested 1:35 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 3; released on bond after one day, three hours.
Sabas Maldonado Jr., 33, of Cotulla; arrested 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in La Salle County Court for failure to appear in court (two counts); released on bond after 17 hours.
Hector I Garcia-Silva, 27, of San Antonio; arrested 9:50 a.m. Friday, April 29, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle County Court for failure to appear in court on a charge of possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1; released on bond after two days, one hour.
Giovanni Rodriguez-Martinez, 21, of Conroe, Texas; arrested 5:44 p.m. Friday, April 29, by the Texas DPS; Class A misdemeanor unlawfully carrying a weapon, Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after 18 hours.
Joe Anthony Solis, 46, of Cotulla; arrested 3:23 p.m. Saturday, April 30, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace for Class A misdemeanor terroristic threats against a family member, warrant issued in La Salle County for Class A misdemeanor terroristic threat; remained in jail Monday, May 9.
Jesus Hector Esquivel, 49, of Laredo; arrested 3:53 p.m. Saturday, April 30, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle District Court for failure to appear in court on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; remained in jail Monday, May 9.
Ramon Antonio Renta, 37, of San Juan, Texas; arrested 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons, second-degree felony smuggling of persons under age 18; remained in jail Monday, May 9.
Lorenzo Joel Saldana, 37, of Falfurrias, Texas; arrested 11:46 a.m. Monday, May 2, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in La Salle County Court for state jail felony failure to appear in court (two counts); court-ordered release after one day, four hours.
Devante Stephon Williams, 29, of Marion, Texas; arrested 12:36 p.m. Monday, May 2, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony evading arrest with a vehicle, third-degree felony smuggling of persons (three counts), second-degree felony smuggling of persons under age 18; remained in jail Monday, May 9.
Jorge Luis Correa, 28, of Weslaco, Texas; arrested 8:28 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace for violating a promise to appear in court, warrant issued in La Salle County Court for failure to appear in court; released on bond after two hours.
Daniel Juarez, 32, of Houston; arrested 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, by the Texas DPS; warrants issued in Harris County for felony sexual assault of a child between ages 14 and 17 (two counts); transferred after 15 hours.
Michael Charles Roark, 32, of Austin; arrested 6:34 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle County Court for failure to appear in court on a charge of possession of marijuana; remained in jail Monday, May 9.
Noel Maldonado, 41, of Cotulla; arrested 9:09 p.m. Thursday, May 5, by the Texas DPS; warrants issued in La Salle County Court for failure to appear in court (two counts); remained in jail Monday, May 9.
Rigoberto Javier Escobedo, 42, of Laredo; arrested 10:18 p.m. Thursday, May 5, by the Encinal PD; third-degree felony unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon; released on bond after 22 hours.
Joshua Raul Martinez, 27, of Dilley; arrested 10:09 a.m. Saturday, May 7, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury; remained in jail Monday, May 9.
Ernesto Juan Lopez, 34, of Corpus Christi, Texas; arrested 1:18 p.m. Saturday, May 7, by the Texas DPS; warrants issued in Nueces County for assault of a pregnant person and assault of a family member, with a prior conviction; remained in jail Monday, May 9.
Carlos Ariel Bailon-Duarte, 24, of Channelview, Texas; arrested 6:20 p.m. Saturday, May 7, by the Texas DPS; Class A misdemeanor evading arrest, third-degree felony smuggling of persons (four counts), second-degree felony smuggling of persons under age 18; remained in jail Monday, May 9.
Jeanette Lizette Martinez, 26, of Laredo; arrested 4:15 p.m. Sunday, May 8, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons, Class A misdemeanor operation of a stash house; remained in jail Monday, May 9.
Samuel Flores, 30, of Cotulla; arrested 9:40 p.m. Sunday, May 8, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury to a family member; remained in jail Monday, May 9.
