From the authors: This recipe is the very first cookie I remember making as a little girl. Whenever I say I’m going to bake cookies, this is the one my son requests. It’s quick & easy to make.
1/2 c. margarine, softened
1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg, beaten
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 t. baking soda
1/4 t. salt
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
In a large bowl, combine margarine, peanut butter, sugar, brown sugar, and egg. Mix together by hand until creamy. Add flour, baking soda, and salt; stir until blended. Add chocolate chips. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto untreated baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15. Makes 3 dozen.
