City to begin taking applications
The city of Pearsall will begin the search for a new police chief following the recent resignation of Humberto Torralba II last week.
Torralba, who was hired in February 2021 after former Police Chief Peter Salinas resigned to become the chief deputy at the Frio County Sheriff’s office, turned in a letter of resignation on Friday, May 13, citing a decision to move. His last day on the job will be Friday, May 27.
“Please accept this letter informing you of my interest in resigning from the position of chief of police for the city of Pearsall as my family and I have decided to transition into a different community,” the letter read.
Pearsall City Manager Federico Reyes said he does not comment on personnel matters but did confirm that he is looking to appoint an interim police chief.
