30-4A ALL-DISTRICT BASEBALL TEAM

Joseph Telles
Pearsall senior pitcher Joseph Telles was named the District 30-4A Most Valuable Player while 11 of his teammates from the district champion Mavericks earned spots on the league’s honor team this week.
Telles went 3-0 on the mound in league play this year as Pearsall won the championship with a 5-1 record.
Junior pitcher Abram Garcia, senior second baseman Izayah Ramirez, senior third baseman Damian Longoria and senior shortstop Sebastian Talamantes were all named the the league’s first-team.
Junior catcher Matthew Hughes, sophomore first baseman Jacob Dominguez, sophomore designated hitter Ace Urrea and sophomore outfielders Elijah Luna and Landon Riddick were named to the all-district second team.
Sophomore Charlies Martinez also earned honorable mention.
The Mavericks went 15-12-2 this season and 5-1 in District 30-4A, earning the league championship.
Pearsall dropped a 2-0 series sweep to Somerset in the bi-district round of the playoffs last week.
All district teams are announced following the playoff exit of the last remaining team from the respective district. Second play Crystal City topped Devine in bi-district and lost a 2-0 series sweep to Corpus Christi Calallen over the weekend.
