2022 DHS SPRING SPORTS BANQUET
Dilley honored its 2022 athletes for their achievements this school year during the annual sports banquet at the high school cafetorium Monday evening, May 23.
Senior Vicente Correa was presented with a plaque for being a state qualifer in powerlifting while Blanca Muniz and Zenestina Perez were named the Lady Wolves Co-All Around MVPs.
Senior Deuce Cano was also named the DHS Male Athlete of the Year.
Following a meal and the lauding of all athletes that participated this year, coaches awarded its superlatives in each respective sport.
Those earning awards are as follows: Football: MVP – Deuce Cano & Clay Tom Hurt, Offensive MVP – Gabe Tijerina and Vicente Correa, Defensive MVP – Santi Reyna and Charles Morales, Saul Obregon Award – Josiah Osio and Adrian Carrasco, Special Teams – Derek Garcia; Volleyball: MVP – Blanca Muniz and Zenestina Perez; Cross Country: Boys’ MVP – Eddie Ramos and Anthony Guerra, Girls’ MVP – Chloe Rodriguez; Tennis: Boys’ MVP – Sean Kelly, Girls’ MVP – Alyssa Sambrano; Golf: Boys’ MVP – Brayden Foster, Girls’ MVP – Belle Girtman; Powerlifting: Boys’ MVP – Vicente Correa, Alex Alvarez, Adrian Carrasco and Deuce Cano, Girls’ MVP – Kelsi Eguia and Zenestina Perez; Boys’ Basketball: MVP – Landon Keck, Offensive MVP – Landon Keck, Most Improved – Deuce Cano and Vicente Cantu; Girls’ Basketball, MVP – Jeralyn Gonzales; Baseball: MVP – Deuce Cano and Seth Cano; Softball: MVP – Faith Aranda, Kaydie Valdez and Reyna Martel, Defensive MVP – Reyna Martel; Boys’ Track: MVP – Dorian Aranda; Girls’ Track: MVP – Dakota San Miguel, Janae Galindo and Chloe Rodriguez.
