Isabel Vela, 88, died on June 21, 2022. She was born on December 5, 1933 to Seferino and Francisca Pena.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Guadalupe Vela, son Alex Vela and daughter Sylvia Ann Vela.

Isabel is survived by her children Lupe Vela (Abby), Juanita Fleming, Samuel Vela (Rosa), Rebecca Garcia (Lauro) and Maria “Cookie” Solis (Jesus). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 27 at Peters Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 28 at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment followed at the Cotulla East Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla.
