Ycario G. Carrion, 79, of Des Plaines, Illinois, died on Friday, July 15, 2022 surrounded by his wife and family. He was born in Millett on February 22, 1943 to Ycario and Delfina Carrion.
He is survived by his wife Juanita, four children Yvette Carrion, Ycario Carrion, Yvonne (Chris) Jorgensen and Daniel Carrion, three grandchildren, Nicholas Carrion, Evin Jorgensen, and Delfina Jorgensen, two brothers Richard (Delores ✝) Carrion and Apolonio (Florinda) Carrion, two sisters San Juana Alvarado and Julia (Albert) Aguilar. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Humberto Carrion.
He grew up in Cotulla and graduated from Cotulla High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and prior to enlisting into the service, he met Juanita. The couple were married in Cotulla in 1967 and spent 55 years togther. They moved to Des Plaines, where they raised their family. Ycario was employed for Pace buses from 1970 to 1972, S&S Warehouse from 1972-1985, Nexus Warehouse (1985-1995), Davidsmeyer Bus Services (2005-2016) and Skokie Valley Distributor (1995-2018). He retired in 2018.
Visitation was held Wednesday, July 20 from 3 to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary at G.L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines, Illinois. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. followed by Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Des Plaines, Illinois. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, Illinois.
